About Salt River Project Electric Utility

Salt River Project (SRP) is a public utility based in Tempe, Arizona, serving the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. SRP is unique as a public-power utility that operates as both an electricity provider and a water resource manager. The company provides electric service to over 1.1 million customers and manages water supply for nearly half of the state's population. SRP generates power from a diverse mix including coal (Four Corners Power Plant - partially owned), natural gas, nuclear (Palo Verde), hydroelectric (dams on Salt and Verde rivers including Roosevelt Dam), solar, and battery storage. SRP has set a goal of achieving net-zero carbon by 2050 and has committed to adding 2,000 MW of new solar and 1,000 MW of battery storage by 2035.
