About Florida Power & Light Electric Utility

Florida Power & Light (FPL) is the largest electric utility in Florida and one of the largest in the US, headquartered in Juno Beach, Florida. FPL serves approximately 5.9 million customer accounts across nearly half of Florida, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Orlando, Daytona Beach, Naples, Fort Myers, and the Space Coast. FPL is a subsidiary of NextEra Energy and operates one of the cleanest and most reliable power generation fleets in the country, including natural gas, solar, nuclear (St. Lucie, Turkey Point), and battery storage. FPL has invested heavily in solar energy with over 50 solar farms and more than 10 million solar panels installed. The company has committed to achieving real-zero carbon emissions by 2045 and is a national leader in grid reliability, undergrounding power lines, and storm hardening following Hurricane Andrew and Hurricane Irma.
